What you'll do

  • Being responsible for authentication, authorization, accounting and directing calls to the correct back end for the TomTom Maps API products

  • Provide a variety of support services, like request throttling, request tracking, rate limiting, real time request security scanning and other business enhancing functions.

  • Building the next generation API management platform, based on industry standard components and open source specifications.

  • Develop complex system components not readily available on the market

  • Developing backend specific skills ando also have the ability to develop front end interfaces for our internal customers.

What you'll need

  • A minimum of 5 years experience developing and maintaining highly available backend systems

  • At least 3 years of golang development

  • At least 3 years experience with frontend development (react / react admin)

  • Experience with cloud technologies (Azure preferred)

  • Experience with development, deployment and management of containerized applications (docker, kubernetes)

  • Thorough understanding of git and CI/CD (github, github actions)

  • Excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written)

  • Multi-year experience with design and development of javascript based frontend development

  • Technical leadership, ability to lead a project end-to-end and communicate with stakeholders

  • Experience building scalable cloud native applications

  • Understanding of modern software engineering practices in areas like CI/CD, test automation, microservices, distributed systems, and data management

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to communicate with customers, vendors and partners, across all levels of the organization (English)

  • A positive and open mindset, we want you to have a voice and bring in new ideas and solutions

  • Fast learner, flexible, can work independently and make good decisions, team player, and adaptable to change

We’re Navigation, a product unit within TomTom’s Location Technology Products technical unit. We develop software for onboard, hybrid, and online navigation applications – used by hundreds of millions of people around the world. Using a Navigation Data Standard (NDS) run-time format, our software includes navigation domain logic for traffic-dependent routing, route guidance, map visualization, search, positioning and machine learning-based predictions and suggestions.
